MONITOR 2020 HURRICANE SEASON & COVID-19

Please continue to monitor information supplied by the Government Met Office and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as we continue to be vigilant regarding the hurricane season and the COVID-19 Pandemic


RESUMPTION OF MEETINGS

Circuit and congregational groups and organizations are encouraged to resume meetings where possible, being mindful to observe all COVID-19 protocols.


NOMINATIONS FOR CIRCUIT STEWARD INVITED

Nominations are invited for the position of Circuit Steward. Nominations must be in writing bearing two signatures of confirmed members in good standing and submitted to the Superintendent Minister by Friday, October 9, 2020. Please note that persons nominated must give their consent before their names are recorded and submitted. No nominations shall be allowed from the floor.


CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

We extend birthday and anniversary wishes to all who are celebrating this week. We remind and encourage you to offer thanks to Almighty God for his goodness and mercy throughout the years of your life.


POSTPONEMENT OF CIRCUIT ORGAN RECITAL

Please note that the Circuit Organ Recital which was scheduled for 11 October, 2020 has been postponed to November. More details will follow.


CONDOLENCES

The St. Kitts Circuit mourns the passing of its Commissioned Lay Worker with responsibility for Communications, Bro. Asquith “Al” “Bertie” Elmes. Bro Al was the General Manager of the MRN at the time of his death. Our condolences are expressed to his family including his wife, Pearline, son, Alex, and brother, Emile. Funeral arrangements will be given subsequently.

Persons are invited to log on to the Circuit website to pay their tributes to both Rev. Dr. Wycherley Gumbs and Bro. Al Elmes.

We pray that the peace of Christ will dwell with all who are mourning at this time.


CIRCUIT OFFICE

The Circuit Office is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Tithes and offerings may also be received at the office during these hours. Contributions may also be made on-line, via the redesigned Circuit website, www.skmethodist.org


ARRIVAL AND USE OF ENVELOPES

Kindly note that the weekly envelopes for the year 2020-2021 are now available. The Circuit apologises for the late arrival. Monthly envelopes are also available at the Circuit Office. Please check with your congregational stewards or class leader. Members are encouraged to utilize the special envelopes earmarked for the different celebrations or causes. Note that the envelope for the School should be returned by the end of October 2020.


HARMONY BOOKSTORE OPENING HOURS

Harmony Christian Bookstore is also open daily, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit the store for a wide variety of study materials and other Christian literature.


LISTEN TO MRN:

Due to the passing of Bro. Al Elmes, General Manager, kindly note that for the next 3-4 weeks 'MRN' will be broadcasting on Sundays only from Wesley, 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. Log on to the Methodist Radio Network - St. Kitts Circuit, available via the Circuit website, www.skmethodist.org/mrn.

The 'MRN' committee do apologize for the interruption in this service and looks forward to a return of our normal daily programming in the near future.
