HURRICANE SEASON & COVID-19

The Hurricane Season comes to a close tomorrow, Monday, 30 November, 2020. We give God thanks for safe passage amid an over-active, record-setting season, but continue in prayer for those affected. Let us continue to be vigilant regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic.



CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

We extend birthday and anniversary wishes to all who are celebrating this week. We remind and encourage you to offer thanks to Almighty God for his goodness and mercy throughout the years of your life and that of your loved ones.


We congratulate Julian Francis of the St. Paul’s congregation and Ahjania Battice of the Wesley congregation on their recent awards at the recently held “25 Most Remarkable Teens” Award Ceremony. Julian was awarded for “Volunteerism”, while Ahjania was awarded for “Personal Decision to Change”. We pray God’s blessings on both young men in their future endeavours.


We congratulate the St. Paul’s Congregation on emerging the winners at the recently held “I Know My Church” Competition. The Immanuel Congregation placed second and Wesley placed third.


EXTRAORDINARY MEETING

Please note that there will be an extraordinary joint meeting of the Circuit Pastoral/Circuit Council today, Sunday, 29 November 2020 at the Tabernacle Methodist Church starting at 4: 00 pm. The main item on the agenda is the election of a Circuit Steward. All concerned are asked to take note, be present and punctual.



OPEN AIR SERVICE

Zone 3 will hold its Quarterly Zonal Open Air Service under the theme, “You are Invited”, today, Sunday, 29 November 2020 on the grounds of the Tabernacle Methodist Church at 6: 00 pm. “Wear your Church T-shirt and come.”


WESLEY’S GRAB AND GO

The Wesley Congregation invites you to its GRAB AND GO on Saturday, 5th December 2020. Lunch will be served from 12 noon at various prices, with a choice of Saltfish & Johnny cake with green salad, Goat Water, Souse, Black Pudding and Cook-up. Just GRAB AND GO. Then, in the evening, come on back and get your dinner for a cost of $25 starting at 5:00 p.m., with a menu of Rice and Peas, Macaroni Pie, Vegetables, Chicken, Mutton, Fish and Ham. Just…GRAB AND GO. Also, a variety of items would be on sale. So, purchase your Christmas presents and avoid the rush at the stores. All protocols would be observed.

Tickets for the dinner can be obtained from the Church Office and Harmony Christian Bookstore.



BOYS’ BRIGADE ISLAND COUNCIL MEETING

Please note that the meeting of the BB Island Council that was scheduled for Thursday, 19 November 2020 has been re-scheduled to Thursday, 3 December 2020 at the Wesley Church Hall starting at 5 pm. All concerned are asked to take note, be present and punctual.



CONDOLENCES AND THANKSGIVING SERVICE

Condolences are extended to the family of the late Sis. L. Ida David-Rogers of Wesley including her daughter, Sis. Icilma David-Woodley, son-in-law, Bro. Glenville Woodley, and grandchildren, Jameka and Alexis Woodley. The Thanksgiving Service for the late Sis. L. Ida David-Rogers will be held on Thursday, 10 December 2020 at the Wesley Methodist Church, Seaton Street, starting at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will begin at 1:00 pm.


Condolences are also extended to Sis. Sheila Douglas of Hope Chapel on the death of her mother, Sis. Gweneth Lawrence.


Condolences are also extended to the family of the late Sis. Masie Hensley of Phipps Memorial, including her husband, Bro. Uriel Hensley and daughters, Sisters Jennifer Hensley and Verna Hensley-Williams.


Condolences are also extended to Rev'd Andrine Joseph of the Dominica Circuit on the death of her father, Bro Georges Joseph.


Condolences are also extended to Sis. Adosha Francis, LI District Treasurer, on the death of her brother.


We pray that the peace of Christ will dwell with all who are mourning at this time.

The Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation continues to advocate for early detection through our ‘Feel a Lump?’ mammogram campaign. If you require financial assistance, please contact Essence of Hope at ouressence2009@gmail.com or 660-0152 to make arrangements.



CIRCUIT OFFICE

The Circuit Office is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Tithes and offerings may also be received at the office during these hours. Contributions may also be made on-line, via the redesigned Circuit website, www.skmethodist.org



HARMONY BOOKSTORE OPENING HOURS

The Harmony Christian Bookstore announces the arrival of its Christmas merchandise - new books and journals, a wide variety of gift items to suit everyone on your list and, a large selection of beautiful Christmas cards. The 2021 edition of “Our Daily Bread” is also available. Come in and do your shopping early. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can call us at 466-1215. See you there.
