MONTHLY PRAYER AND FAST

The Circuit Mission & Evangelism Committee invites all members to join in the “Wesley Fast” or “Daniel Fast” on the last Friday of each month, beginning on Friday, 29th January, 2021. The “Wesley Fast” begins at sunset on the Thursday and ends on the Friday at 3:00 p.m. or at sunset. The “Daniel Fast” is a partial Fast eliminating all meats, pastries, chips, bread, and fried foods during the Fast. Only fruits, vegetables and water are encouraged.


During the Fast, members are encouraged to pray on the hour for five minutes (or longer) for different concerns including: Spiritual growth, Personal needs (health, finance, family, etc.), the Church, Community and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Region, the world at large, and the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. You may decide to have a prayer partner or partners.Those who are on medication are asked to consult with their doctor before starting on a Fast.



PRAYER BOXES

Congregations that made Prayer Boxes available for members to drop in prayer concerns or requests are encouraged to continue with them. Congregations that did not make these Prayer Boxes available are kindly asked to do so. Boxes are to be cleared at the end of every Sunday morning Worship Service and the requests/concerns given to the Minister or held by one of the Congregational Stewards until the time of Bible Study and/or Prayer Meeting or dealt with in what other way is decided.



EMHMJS FATHERS’ WORK DAY

The Epworth/Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School (EMHMJS) will be hosting a Fathers’ Work Day on January 30th, 2021. The areas of focus include enclosing the garden area with a picket fence, erecting a school sign, and constructing garden boxes to begin a school garden. All fathers with children presently attending the EMHMJS, past parents and friends of the School are invited to join in giving the School a much-needed face lift. Your usual support will be appreciated.



MAURICE HILLIER SCHOOL REGISTRATION

Parents and Guardians are asked to note that registration for the new Kindergarten class 2021 -2022 at the Epworth/Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School is now open. The Registration fee is $100.00, Non-Refundable. A recent passport sized (half snap) picture, birth certificate, an immunization/Clinic Record for the person being registered, parents’ Identification card, and a job letter must be presented at the time of registration, which ends on 26th February, 2021. Please be guided accordingly.



SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are currently available to nationals interested in pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the following countries: Taiwan, Turkey, Serbia, and Brazil. For more information, please contact the Human Resource Department at Government Headquarters at 467 1323. Interested members are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available.


CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

We extend birthday and anniversary greetings to all who are celebrating this week. We remind and encourage you to offer thanks to Almighty God for his goodness and mercy throughout the years of your life and that of your loved ones.



CONDOLENCES

We extend condolences to Sis Althea Farier of the St. Johnston Methodist Congregation on the death of her brother, Rev. Dr. Allan Isaac, Senior Pastor of Rivers of Living Water Christian Centre.


We pray that the peace of Christ will dwell with all who are mourning at this time.



CIRCUIT OFFICE

The Circuit Office is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily and can be reached via telephone numbers 465-2346/662-2885 or email, info@skmethodist.org. Tithes and offerings may also be received at the office during these hours. Contributions may also be made on-line, via the Circuit website, www.skmethodist.org.



HARMONY BOOKSTORE OPENING HOURS

The Harmony Christian Bookstore still has new books and journals, a wide variety of gift items to suit everyone on your list. The 2021 edition of “Our Daily Bread” is also available. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can call us at 466-1215. See you there.

ST CHRISTOPHER OUTREACH CENTER

Persons desiring to volunteer at the Outreach Center, Irish Town Bay Road, can give their names to the Circuit Office. The Methodist Communion is rostered for February 1-5, 2021.
