MONITOR 2021 ATLANTIC HURRICANE SEASON & COVID-19
Please continue to monitor information supplied by the Government Met Office, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) as we continue to be vigilant regarding the hurricane season and the COVID-19 Pandemic.
ASSISTANCE IN TIMES OF TROUBLE AND NEED
You may know of persons who are in need during this time of crisis, especially some who are quarantined and in dire need of essential supplies;let us, through the CARE Fund stewards, in the true spirit of the Christian Community, demonstrate love and compassion by assisting where necessary.
MISSIONARY CONTRIBUTIONS
Remember, if you have not yet given your Missionary contributions, you can still do so before the end of the Church year, August 31, 2021.
MONTHLY PRAYER AND FAST
As we move towards the end of the Church Year, members are invited to participate in the fast for the usual last Friday of the month - 27th August, 2021. Thanks to those who participated in the prayer and fast last Thursday and Friday. May God continue to strengthen you by his Holy Spirit.
Those using the Wesley Fast will begin on Thursday 26th August 2021at sunset and will end at 3:00 p.m. or at sunset on Friday, 27th August 2021.Members who will be doing the Daniel Fast will begin on Friday mornings, 27th August 2021 and end at 3:00 p.m. or sunset on the same day.
Please pray every hour on the hour for three minutes or longer for different concerns especially as we move into a new Church Year. You could decide on having a prayer partner(s).
ANNUAL and LONG LEAVE
Please note that the Superintendent, Rev. Mark Christmas, has resumed his long leave, 16 - 31 August 2021. Rev. Tyrone Hunkins will superintend in his absence.
Note also that the Circuit Deacon, Rev. Stacia Williams-Christmas, is on long leave until 31 August 2021.
Rev. Telford Matthew is on annual leave until 31 August, 2021.
FAREWELL AND APPRECIATION SERVICE
The Farewell and Appreciation Service for Rev. Telford and Sis. Petra Matthew was successfully held on Tuesday, 17 August, 2021. Thanks to all those from the Methodist congregations and all other persons who viewed the Service online via the usual Circuit media platforms. Thanks also to our media team for making this possible.
CIRCUIT MCCA WOMEN’S COMMISSION
Women's Groups are also reminded to submit their annual subscriptions or dues for the financial year.
The Circuit MCCA Women's Commission had its “MCCA Pioneer Women - Virtual Exchange of Knowledge”. Thanks for joining us on Zoom, along with our Sisters of the Nevis Circuit.
We trust you would have learned more about our Methodist Women who were the first to be involved in the work.

Rev. Ruth Pratt (St. Maarten) on the death of her mother (Bahamas);
Bishop Theophilus Rolle (B/TCI) on the death of his father (Bahamas);
The family of the late Rev. Dr. Claude L. Cadogan (Jamaica, originally from Belize). Dr. Cadogan died at the age of 106 having served as the second Connexional President (1972-1977), and as the second Connexional Secretary (1970-1972). One of his lasting legacies is the design of the MCCA Crest;
The family of the late Bro. Samuel Jones (St. Johnston), including his granddaughter, Lesleigh Joseph. The Thanksgiving Service will be held on Thursday, 2nd September 2021 at the St. Johnston Methodist church starting at 2:00 pm;
The family of the late Sis. Isis Francis (St. Paul’s), including her sister, Diana Francis.
The Thanksgiving Service will be held on Friday, 27th August 2021 at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Viewing and tributes start at 1.00pm, the Service starts at 2:00pm.

Cloth face masks, with the MCCA crest, are on sale at a cost of $15 from the Circuit Office. All masks are delivered on payment. The colours available are white and black.
