MCCA Leeward Islands District's Letter to the Congregations

Updated: Sep 13, 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Greetings to you in the name of our Saviour Christ!

As you are aware, September begins the church year for us as a Methodist Church. The year which ended on August 31st, has been unusually challenging especially in the light of the ominous and terrifying presence of the COVID 19 pandemic. Many have lost loved ones, the economy of several countries has been severely impacted negatively, and there has been so much social and emotional upheaval to say the least.

In all of this, the hand of God has been guiding and directing in ways that have marvelous and wonderful. We have been learning new ways to adapt and still remain relevant. We have discovered too, that, as a church, we can no longer do business as usual. COVID 19 has challenged us to think outside of the proverbial box, becoming more innovative and creative in order “to serve the present age, our calling to fulfill.”

More than that, we are being presented, as never before, with the opportunity deepen our relationship with God in Christ and to live more lovingly with each other.

May this new church year enable to recognize and to believe that we serve a God who is able to “do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think.”

With every good wish

Yours in Christ

Bishop Charles A. Seaton
