Youth Week 2022 - President's Letter

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as we begin Youth Week 2022, scheduled for November 12-20, 2022. This year we celebrate youth week under the theme “Youth Refocus! Look to Christ!” along with our theme song “Look and Live”. The past two years have been riddled with numerous changes and uncertainties, and as we now transition into this new post pandemic world, it is more necessary than ever before, for us to keep our focus on Christ who is our sustainer and rock. To this end, we have put together a series of activities to provide opportunities for our young people to develop their potential and promote Christian witness and discipleship, and we invite all to come out and participate and support our youths in the planned events for this week.

On Saturday 12th November, we kicked things off with the Nevis Exchange, with approximately 60 youth and young adults journeying to our sister island for a day of spiritual growth, enrichment and comradery, with our fellow youth and young adults in the Nevis circuit. On Tuesday 15th November, the youth will engage in a community outreach activity of their choosing, on Thursday 17th November, we meet at the Immanuel Methodist Church for the Singing Competition and on Saturday 19th November, we’ll enjoy a robust hike to the Greenhill waterfall.

Sunday 20th November is the day for our youth and young adults to make their presence really felt in our worship experience. Across the MCCA, the youth will be leading and actively participating in the morning services as we commemorate Youth & Young Adults Lord’s Day. Let us encourage the future leaders, teachers, preachers and evangelists in our various congregations with our prayers as well as our presence on this Lord’s Day. In the afternoon, we are off to the Tabernacle Methodist Church for our march of witness and closing rally at 4:00 pm.

We give God thanks as we undertake these activities for Youth week 2022 and ask for your continued prayers as we seek to support and develop our youth for Christ, for the betterment of their lives, communities and country.

I now declare Youth Week 2022 officially started.

Your servant in Christ,

Tiffany Liburd

Lay Youth Secretary, St. Kitts Youth and Young Adults Commission.
